How will a virtual Rural Health Policy Institute work?

A raging pandemic, a new administration in Washington, the ongoing rural hospital closure crisis – the stakes are high for rural health in 2021.

As individual rural health professionals and advocates, every day we work hard to ensure our community has access to essential care and resources – but our voices are louder together. Our next step as rural health stakeholders is NRHA’s virtual 32nd Rural Health Policy Institute Feb. 9-11.

Rural health advocacy has never been easier: NRHA has adapted to connect you and hundreds of rural health leaders from across the country with your representatives through our new advocacy platform and at the nation’s largest virtual rural advocacy event.

Our reduced virtual registration rate includes access to NRHA’s Advocacy 101 workshop Feb. 9, perfect for rookies and those looking to hone their virtual skills. Don't’ miss your chance to hear directly from Members of Congress and the Biden Administration during NRHA’s Rural Health Disparities Summit Feb. 10. Then we’ll speak with our representatives and provide our unique rural perspectives Feb. 11 via virtual meetings on Capitol Hill.

At NRHA’s first virtual Rural Health Policy Institute you will:
  • Learn the best way to share your key messages with federal officials
  • Update longtime stakeholders on current rural priorities
  • Educate a new administration and Congress on the health care needs of rural Americans
  • Get to know NRHA’s newly elected leaders
  • Learn to engage with NRHA’s new, easy online rural health advocacy tool
  • Create powerful, lasting connections with your elected officials and their staff

NRHA will present all Policy Institute content within a fresh online environment powered by CrowdCompass, the successor to our longstanding app for NRHA events, with virtual sessions occurring within the ubiquitous Zoom meeting utility. Event sessions will be recorded and available to attendees indefinitely, so if you miss a live session, you can watch it later at your convenience.

“I am so excited to engage with rural health advocates from across the nation during NRHA’s 32nd Rural Health Policy Institute,” says Carrie Cochran-McClain, NRHA vice president of government affairs and policy. “Whether you’re a longtime champion for rural health or just becoming aware of the health care challenges facing rural Americans, Policy Institute is your opportunity to make your voice louder.”

We need your voice at our most important rural health advocacy event yet. Let’s put our ideas in motion and speak directly with our elected officials to advocate for legislation and policies that protect rural patients, providers, and their communities.
