About
Zil joined NRHA staff in 2020.
He analyzes state-level rural health trends, identifies model legislation, and develops and implements strategic approaches to engage state officials and key stakeholders. He does this by building relationships with the state level advocates to promote policies around rural health. He is passionate about expanding opportunities in rural communities, demonstrating how advocacy can translate from patient care to policy change, and advancing pragmatic solutions grounded in evidence-based best practices.
He previously served on the program services team where he assisted with activities related to State Rural Health Associations, the National Rural Oral Health Initiative, and the All of Us Research Program. He joined NRHA after working as an intern on Capitol Hill for multiple members of congress.
Zil has a bachelor’s degree in Communication, Legal Institutions, Economics, and Government from American University's School of Public Affairs. He currently is a Master of Policy Management student at Georgetown University.
