PRESS RELEASE
National Rural Health Association
June 25, 2026
On June 23, 2026, the Senate Agriculture Committee released the legislative text for the 2026 Farm Bill 2.0, the Agricultural Act of 2026. Earlier this year, the House Agriculture Committee’s 2026 Farm Bill, H.R. 7567, the Farm, Food, and National Security Act, passed the House on a bipartisan basis. The bill now heads to the Senate floor for full committee review. Please find NRHA’s letter of support for the Senate bill here and the House bill here.
NRHA applauds the Senate for advancing its bipartisan Farm Bill and urges quick passage to support rural communities. The Farm Bill is no longer solely an agricultural bill; it has evolved into a central strategy for improving rural health access and outcomes, strengthening food security, and supporting infrastructure development in underserved rural communities.
NRHA views the Farm Bill as an opportunity to improve health care access for agricultural workers and their families, build rural economic and community development, and enhance the overall quality of life in rural communities. NRHA looks forward to working with Congress to enact a comprehensive, bipartisan Farm Bill to support rural communities.
For more information on NRHA’s Farm Bill priorities, please review our policy paper and legislative priorities. We encourage rural advocates to utilize NRHA’s Farm Bill Advocacy Campaign to urge the Senate to pass their Farm Bill to support rural communities.
