2019 top rural and community hospitals announced

NRHA has named the 20 highest-ranked prospective payment system hospitals in the country based on an evaluation by the Chartis Center for Rural Health using iVantage Health Analytics’ Hospital Strength Index.

These rural and community hospitals will be recognized in an awards ceremony during NRHA’s 5th Rural Hospital Innovation Summit May 21 in San Diego.

The determining factors for the top 20 rural and community hospitals were based on eight indices: inpatient market share, outpatient market share, quality, outcomes, patient perspective, cost, charge, and financial efficiency.

“NRHA is committed to ensuring our members have the best information to manage their hospitals,” says Brock Slabach, NRHA membership services senior vice president. “We’re pleased to recognize the accomplishments of these rural and community hospitals.”

Additionally, a list of the 200 top-performing rural and critical access hospitals was announced last week to over 500 attendees at NRHA's 31st Rural Health Policy Institute.
